Why accessorials need their own audit lane
Accessorial charges depend on shipment facts that may not be visible in a billing export alone. A conservative audit therefore asks whether the charge has a supporting reference, whether the amount matches an expected or contract amount when supplied, and whether the shipment record supports the service.
Useful evidence to preserve
- Invoice and shipment/PRO identifiers
- Charge type and billed amount
- Expected or contract amount when available
- BOL, POD, appointment, delivery-location or other support reference
What a flag means
An evidence gap is not proof that a fee is invalid. Recovery OS places the line into a review queue so an analyst can verify the underlying shipment facts before any external action.
